New on my bookshelf

Last week I was in Target to pick up some beauty things, and I impulsively bought Here Lies Bridget by Paige Harbison.

I think it's about mean girls in high school, a car accident and death/limbo - sorta reminds me of Before I Fall. It is a pretty thin book so I think it'll be a really fun, easy read. I haven't read a lot of raving reviews per se, but I still think I'll enjoy it. The cover's quite cute too. :)

I finally received I Am Number Four from The Book Depository - it only took 6 months!! Ha.

I've been meaning to read this for a long, long time. I haven't seen the film yet, but I think it'll be good.
Check out the side view!
I don't know what the other side bit of a book is called, but I love it when they mix it up a bit. :)

It's only ink and paper - how could I want it so badly?

If you strip the facts down to the basics, that's (seemingly) essentially all a book is. But when I try and think of something similar, I think of human beings. We're seemingly just flesh, blood and bone, but actually we've got a soul you can't see, feelings you can't see, desires and thoughts you can't see, and a heart that isn't just a heart.
You see?
Books, to me, are the same.

Enough with the rambling, what I wanted to post about is this book I currently really want!

Update + Visual Inspiration (7)

Getting swamped with upcoming assignments due next week! Not fun, but it's inducing me into a study-mode which is a nice change (lol). Normally I spend my time watching TV.

I need to do an essay on romance and 'The Wife of Bath's Tale' by Chaucer.
Also, prepare for a class/sources test on Homer, Hesiod, and an attic red figure vase thingo.
Also, I need to write out a musical diary.

Overall, fun times ahead, but let's get inspired, shall we?

(P.S. The Withering Tights winner will be announced some time this week!)

The Time Will Come #5 (& Fairest of Them All #4)

The Time Will Come is a Thursday book meme which began at Books for Company, where we pick a book we've been meaning to read but haven't got around to yet, one that's been sitting on our shelf gathering dust for a while...

Fairest Of Them All is a cover comparison blog feature where we look different covers of the same book and discuss which cover we like most!

Elixir by Hilary Duff

I got this 70% off at the Angus and Robertson administrative sale, so I was pretty chuffed about that. :)
I've heard quite a few positive things about this novel, and I've youtubed a few Hilary Duff interviews, so I know that she tries to make sure everyone's aware that she didn't write her book on her own (despite the single name on the cover!).

I'm not sure when exactly I'll have time to read this but it's definite there on my TBR list.

I went to Target yesterday and spotted a new cover of Elixir on the stands...

I don't know if this is actually that new a cover but I hadn't seen it before. The girl reminds me of Hilary's sister, Haylie Duff and I don't normally like models on book covers so I'm not sure how I feel about this...
Also, even though blue is my favourite colour, the colour of this one seems a bit dated to me. But I do like the film detail in there.

Have you read elixir
