It's only ink and paper - how could I want it so badly?

If you strip the facts down to the basics, that's (seemingly) essentially all a book is. But when I try and think of something similar, I think of human beings. We're seemingly just flesh, blood and bone, but actually we've got a soul you can't see, feelings you can't see, desires and thoughts you can't see, and a heart that isn't just a heart.
You see?
Books, to me, are the same.

Enough with the rambling, what I wanted to post about is this book I currently really want!

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E Lockhart

I actually have known of this book for a few years and I wanted it back then too, but not as much as now! Because I've heard so many people raving endlessly about how this is a must-read, so now I must read it. :)
On a less relevant note, I really love this cover.

Have you read this one yet?

No I haven't read it...
It is a little weird to want a book, as you said, It's only ink and paper - how could I want it so badly. But it's what's filled inside those pages...the reason we read. It's magical how we can read and enter another place, a different universe. Jump into someone a story and get so into it. It's pretty incredible.

It were being sold at Basement Books (online too!) with free shipping for $4 or something. You should check if they still have them. That's how I got myself a copy. Don't mind the remainder texta mark. ;P

Also, I like how you talked about books. I've actually been thinking more and more about that "we're all just skin and bones" train of thought, due to what I've been studying lately. I've got to quote you on that paragraph one day! It's almost poetic hehe.

That's a good analogy! I haven't heard of this one, but that cover is beautiful :-)
