Day 15 – Favourite male character
*Day 16 – Favourite female character*
Alrighty, this one's a piece of cake. Unlike for favourite male characters where I couldn't choose just one, I don't have to think twice about which female literary character is my favourite of all time.
There are plenty of amazing female characters I can think of just off the top of my head - Becky Bloomwood, Georgia Nicolson, Hermione Granger, Cameron Morgan, Jane Eyre, and Elizabeth Bennet, just to name a few, but no one can top KATNISS EVERDEEN.
Kat embodies everything I love in a female character - minus the hairy legs and lack of humour - but she's more than forgiven on that front, given that she lived in District 12 and had to endure the Hunger Games. Twice. I suppose the whole society of Panem doesn't allow much room for humour either.
Anyway, Katniss Everdeen is one of the strongest female characters I have come across. She is loyal to her friends and family, she has an intelligence that aids her killer instincts, she doesn't give a crap about what people think, she does what she knows and what she thinks is right, and she has archery skills that even Robin Hood would envy.
Living in a dystopian society, Kat still seems to keep humanity at the forefront of her priorities. This quality is even more impressive when you look at how those guys live in Capitol. She has a tough exterior - but I'd say Katniss is a bit of a softy on the inside. AND she's a songbird! Which makes me love her that much more.
